Chennai, June 18, 2026: Mahindra Industrial Park Chennai Limited (MIPCL), a joint venture between Mahindra World City Developers Limited and Sumitomo Corporation of Japan, announced that YKK India Private Limited, the Indian subsidiary of YKK Corporation, will establish a new manufacturing facility at Origins by Mahindra, Chennai. According to YKK India, this will be the third manufacturing plant in the country and will be spread across approximately 149,936 square metres with a total investment amount of USD 150 million within the integrated industrial cluster. The facility is expected to be completed by February 2028.

With YKK India joining a growing roster of global manufacturers including Mitsubishi Electric, Yanmar and Omron, Origins by Mahindra, Chennai continues to strengthen its position as a preferred destination for international manufacturing investments in India.

(MLDL) and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO), successfully hosted Mahindra World City Jaipur Half Marathon on Sunday, 29th March 2026. As a continuation of the recently held Mahindra World City Chennai Marathon, the event brought together Jaipur’s growing community of fitness enthusiasts, amateur runners, and seasoned athletes. The marathon saw participation from over 3000 runners across age groups and abilities.

The marathon was flagged off by the honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, who encouraged the runners and stressed on the importance of a healthy lifestyle for the youth. The flagging off was followed by the planting of a sapling at MWC Jaipur, where the honourable Chief Minister reaffirmed MWC Jaipur’s commitment to building and maintaining a sustainable ecosystem for businesses.

Designed as a community-led initiative, the marathon featured multiple categories, including the Half Marathon, 10 km run, 5 km run, 3 km run, and a 1 km shorter run. Volunteers and city authorities worked in close coordination to ensure efficient traffic management and a secure, smooth experience for all participants.

Chennai, February 22, 2026: Mahindra World City Chennai successfully hosted the 4th edition of the MWC Marathon on Sunday, 22 February 2026, marking the much-anticipated return of the marquee running event. ('MWC Jaipur'), a joint venture between Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (MLDL) and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO), today inaugurated a new phygital library at the Reserve Police Line, Chandpole, Jaipur. The facility was dedicated to the citizens of Jaipur by Shri Ajitabh Sharma, Principal Secretary – Energy; in the presence of Shri Sachin Mittal, Commissioner of Police, Jaipur; and Shri Amit Sinha, Managing Director & CEO, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited. The library aligns with the Rajasthan Government’s broader initiatives to expand educational infrastructure, nurture digital learning, and enhance youth employability by supporting preparation for various competitive and government examinations. Developed under Mahindra World City Jaipur’s CSR program, the phygital library - combining both physical and digital learning resources will primarily serve police personnel and their families, while also remaining open to the public. It is expected to benefit over 5,000 citizens over time and will house books across subjects including Science, Mathematics, Arts & Literature, Competitive Exams, Skill Development, and Fiction/Non-Fiction. The facility is also integrated with the National Digital Library of India (NDLI), an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, developed by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. NDLI provides access to millions of digital resources including books, journals, articles, theses, videos, and simulations across diverse disciplines making quality educational content accessible to students, teachers, researchers, and lifelong learners alike. The initiative includes rainwater harvesting, construction of 16 farm ponds and 11 water tanks across 10 villages, conserving over 44 crore litres of water annually. This conserved rainwater is used to irrigate arid land and initiate agriculture on fallow land where cultivation of crops has been historically impossible, thereby enhancing agricultural productivity and supporting environmental conservation.
